Bruton's jumps.

It's apparent it's the time of year where brakes come on, and dirt seems to have formed into transitioned mounds, all ready for this thing called 'Trails Season'. Bruton, in a matter of weeks has already formed about 3 jumps, in a yard, catering for these so called 'trails bosses'.

They're running the first bits in, whilst building the rest to keep juices flowing. I drive down with Bruton, picking Mamby up on the way. Barclay came down later, but he's gay as, and I didn't take photos of him...

Junction Nine is back. Me and Pies are planning to update this ting with more interesting content as we actually do other things than ride BMX now (If smoking da reefer and getting loose counts haha). But alas! BMX will probably be the focus anyway.
Anyway basically im just gonna post some jokes stuff to get the ball rolling again.

First up i found this jokes picture of some guy that goes to my old school. Looks like an eagle or something but it creased me up.

Then theres this i found on Good ol' Facebook. Its my boss and im pretty sure hes naked in a bathtub. Its pretty small but you can use your imagination (no homo).

And heres one i found on some website, although i cant remember where so sorry for jacking your photo. It features Pies, Tim, Sam and I aswell as that guy doing a flairwhip.

It's been ages since me or Jack have updated on here, but times to make a change. Expect more updates in the near future... Content will be less BMX related, however, expect as much BMX as possible, with a lot more random shit as well.

Don't actually know where to start...

I smashed my iPhone, and only just got it back after about a month. I downloaded this application called Camera Bag which is fucking sick. It can do some sweet effects to the average phone camera pictures my phone takes. Imitations of Polaroids, and Holga cameras is a sweet deal. For about £2, it's pretty good.

Exams are on at the moment, thankfully, I don't have many = time. Me and Jack have already completed our art exams... Jack's moving image exam revolved around the word "attached". Deciding upon a BMX related attachment, this was the final piece.

Yeah, been a good year for Junction Nine. We saw a second round of Street Vs. Tweak, many visits to Clanfield, and a summer roaming around in Tim's car. However, downturn in posts produced by College/Uni etc means that it feels like Junction Nine is dying out. But. It's not, so don't threat it! Ha.

Anyway. Stickers are definitley on the table for production soon. Tees are a maybe, it's just producing sufficient funds to do though that seems hard. Also producing a legit designs, and actually finding a place to get them done is also hard. However, if there's a will, there's a way.

Updated the Flickr last night/today. Got my first roll of 120 film back from the Lubitel, so I scanned them in and put em on Flickr. Well. The only 2 good shots... Ah well... Finished a film in the Diana too. Will sort that out when i've gone back to college... Anyway, yeah, check it out here

For any shredders who still read this blog, do not be alarmed at the lack of postings!
Its winter so give us a chance! However, Me and Pies have been occupying ourselves with various projects other than bmx. i know Pies has been doing some sweet designs with his newly installed graphics tablet, and some of the shit he creates is gettin serious. Think hes got some t-shirt ideas in the works too. In addition, ive been messing around with some After Effects CS3 i managed to download, as well as some p-shop and Final Cut, so expect the next batch of media attack to be of a higher standard.

Havent posted here in a while. I guess its winter now, cold and wet weather has settled in and looks like its only gonna get worse. Inevitably, that means less riding and more partying! To begin with, I'd like to apologize to anyone, if there is anyone, who reads the blog and has been disappointed by the lack of updates, however, ever since the start of college, both Me, and Jack have been snowed under with coursework and stuff. Also, Tim's moved to Portsmouth to go to Uni, so we no longer travel as much as before... Anyway.

As some of you may know, local rider, and a good friend with some people whom may read this, Tommy Boyd passed away last week, and I think I can say this on behalf of everyone that we're in true shock. This is what came from the Retribution site...

"Tommy Boyd passed away early this week. He'll be missed so much by so many people, and if you ever had the pleasure of meeting him you'll know what a kind hearted, generous and caring person Tom was. We all love you Tom, so much more than you knew.
Tom rode with me for almost ten years, and always made everything look so good on his bike. He also was a keen photographer, and you'll see his BMX photos used on the dig and 4down sites. He was particularly good at portraiture, and you would rarely see him without his camera. He was such a great guy to be around, always there for us when we needed him, and I'll never forget that. Thank you so much for the times we spent together Tommy, we're all thinking of you x"

For both me and Jack, and probably Tim too, in the days of riding Abshot, it was always a joyful time riding with Tommy, and he always proved to treat us like one of his mates. I'll never forgetting starting out and having his skill to look up to.

Not only was it his passion for riding too that we both had in common, but we also enjoyed photography, and talking to him at the years Street Vs Tweak was really cool. It was also sick to see his photos appear on DIG. However, that's the last time I recall talking to Tom.

Anyway, on behalf us all...

Well me and Jack are rocking the Macs now, however, Tim is not. Macs are so good. It's nice to have fast, working computer. So yeah, this MacBook Pro may produce some J9 designs as I've got me a graphics tablet, and as you can see from Jack's latest video, his iMac is helping with videos and shit... So yeah, couple'a pictures of the computer busy-ness. Oh, and it's Tim's birthday today, so happy birthday dooooood.

Oh yeah, the Land Flat street Jam in Portsmouth is this Sunday. It starts at 12 noon and the meeting point is at the infamous law court walls which i'm pretty sure everyone, bar Pigeon, knows how to get to... So yeah, NONE of you have a reason not to be there. HOLLA YALLL.

Sorry for not posting anything and you might all think I'm dead but really, I'm not!
I been reallll busy lately, what with finishing school and so on so Im gonna give you the run through of the Clanfield area.
Finally, the trails are being dug at last! Pretty chilled spot we got going in Horndean not far from the M3(m), Theyre pretty cool a few nice sized doubles and crazy berms and a homely shack with a coffee table! Haha!
The scene has gone pretty quiet around here lately, Josh Hocking has started work so I hardly ever see him anymore and a few others have done a dissapearing act!
Josh Hocking did pop down the trails when they wernt even ridable and I managed to shoot some pictures on the little line which can be seen on my FLICKR.
I promise I will try to update this thing more often when I do find time although I do have a Cornwall trip coming up which will be pretty fun.

So, thanks to our skater friends, we were informed of "Monks Ditch". Its basically a flat bank mini with a steep "invisible" incline, which leads to a sketchy mud/quickcrete burm to launch. In all, its more difficult to ride then it looks. But hell its fun! Unfortunately, Im going to have to leave its location undisclosed, for fear of being shanked by die hard skaters (That is however, if anyone still skates there?).

Ive managed to accumulate some busted fingers over the past week, and was fed up of just sitting at home, so I decided to go out and film a bit. Recently I have been put off by the fact I have to set up a desktop computer and capture on Moviemaker every time I want to upload (On a pc with 256mb ram). I then proceed to transfer the raw footy onto my laptop and edit, again, on Moviemaker. It takes ages. I should be getting a whole new Kit soon, Hallelujah, although its gonna set me back a bit money-wise.

I also forgot to put it a clip of Tim 3'ing off the top of this grindbox. My bad. Ill upload it sometime in the future.

Anyway, we were all just messing around and managed to get a grand total of three clips of Tim riding the centre.

I'm bored, so I may aswell post this up now. Jack bought a new frame with early birthday money the other day. By increasing the headtube angle, and the bottom bracket height, by shedding about 1lb on in weight from the frame alone, and now he's able to take off his back wheel within seconds, instead of hours, his bike is all good in his books.

The frame is a Subrosa Pandora, at 20.75 in tt length, about 4.9lbs, and Jack's is in white. It's a pretty neat frame. Jack's pleased with it anyway...

Finally got round to doing an update, yessss! Anyway. Jack Evershed has a new frame, it's a 20.75 Subrosa Pandora, and it's looking freshhhh! Luke Goble is back on his bike after about 6 months of being held up by snowboarding escapades and his car, and also, Bruton, along with the Castles and Netley, has gone to America for 3 weeks. Ah, how I wish I was in America right now! Haha.

So yeah, just a little news update for you! Right, time for some photos yes? Yes. So. Yesterday, myself, the Eversheds, and Goble went on a little "trip". First off, we congregated at the 'Shed's, then we ventured to Lee-on-Solent. It was madness how windy it was. Seriously. Crazy! Anyway, we managed to get a few photos in. Checkkk.

So yeah, heres a couple of pictures from Lee. It was an alright session i guess, bar the fact everytime you did a manual or a grind, you got fully blown over and would eat shit. Click pictures to enlarge.

After the major wind issues were just not worth trying to avoid, we decided to head to Gosport, where there is the new bowl. The bowl is a pretty sweet flyout, but to actually use as a bowl, it's pretty crap... Either way, we had fun at Gosport, well, I did until my jeans ripped. I was irate! A quick little crank arm slide on a pathetic rail gone wrong managed to slice the front of jeans (round the crotch area) and leave me in a muddle. However, Luke's hawaiian shorts helped. Haha.

Luke's second day of riding, after circa 6 months of, and he does this gap. From the far right wedge, to the far left concrete transition. Madness. Boosted too for extra kudos!

Jack's chain snapped. The comedic graffitti on the bench was quite appropriate. Ahwell Jack, could've been worse. Could've ripped your jeans! Haha.

Me and Waldo. Tim who boasts his horizontal stripes to accomidate for the "punk rock" look, actually turns out to look like "Where's Wally?/Waldo?", although, I look like a European tourist what with the sweet Hawaiian shorts. Hahah. Ahwell, they saved my bacon!

Finally, on our way home, we stopped at Henry Court school as we'd heard there was a sweet bank down at the tennis courts. The bank was preeeeeeeettty nice. With two rails too, it definatley has potential. Check the pictures...

Luke - Double peg to fakie on the rail. It's funny, he fell off a couple of times, one of them was the generic "legs either side of the rail - ball crush" falls, however, due to his lankyness, he survived!

I also got a photo, sock horror, of a double peg to 180 out on the ledge on the far left of the bank. Not as good or high as Luke's but after eating shit the over day trying to hope onto a ledge, I was pleased with myself.

So Im stuck at home, bored, doing revision, and I decide to have a look at some of my old videos. I was pleased to find that the majority of them have view counts in the hundreds, although I swear the first junction nine edit had well in excess of 2000 views? I also find that some of them have more referrals than views, suggesting some people must link to the page and then not watch the video? How very intriguing. In addition to that, I find that my videos have appeared on websites I didnt know about, such as AOL and something called urbano. Oh well at least J9 is getting around. It was this involuntary expansion that motivated me to make another edit, but this was from old footage that wasnt going to be used in the first place so I just put the clips together with some tunes.

Unfortunately, movie maker has once again fucked it up. I had to capture every clip four times for it to register and even then some clips that shouldve been in there just disapeared. There was sposed to be clips involving a luc-e and an icepick, the clip of the bank shouldve been a DS footjam whip to oner off and Tims fakie footjam made the cut twice. Maybe the lack of patience makes it an entertaining watch.

I hate how its such an effort with movie maker to make something acceptable, but the results are more often than not, unrewarding.

Anyway that was probably a boring read, so I apologise, but heres the "video".

Simple day in Whiteley today. Go to the skatepark, notice that it's GHB shitty slippy metal cliche park, which is only fun for 10 minutes, then head to Tesco, then ride curbs and the infamous U.G. Pretty much routine for every Whiteley trip. Anyyyyyway. Yeah, after doing rocket manual barpsins for circa 2 hours, and completely ruining my sense of balance, as I tried to double peg a ledge and dead legged myself, local plank peeps set up two cones and a peice of shit on top for themselves to "hippy hop". Jack thought it was an oppurtunity to hop it. Easy as that. Got the camera out, a couple'a tries, and we're done. High fives all round. Dialled.

Last few days.

The last week has been quite hectic. First Charlie stayed at mine for a couple of nights (whilst SVT was on, which was hectic enough), then I stayed round his, and rode Guildford in the hottest weather ever. Then yesterday a pretty sweet session went on at Chandlers, then we went to Super Pizza (sick!) and watched the footage, plus left overs on the tape 'till about 12... So yeah, as you can guess, I haven't really got much sleep over the last few days...

Street Vs Tweak.

This year was well good! New spots, new faces, and obviously a lot more advanced due to a years worth of progression. The winners, who of which I only know one's first name, both truely deserved the win. Although it was quite dissapointing that one of the more local gunners didn't win... Some sick stuntings went down, for example, two handrails of death, both kinked, were sent by various people. A lot of people seemed to have learnt whips too this year, with different variations popping out left, right and center. Matt Parker (from Project 5) looked like he filmed pretty much everything, so I anticipate the video from him! Anyway. It ended at Hoglands, and some other stuff went on down there. Ryan from Farnborough was busting out some nice as 3 whips over the spine, and flairs all over the show. Rails sessioners where busting tooth hanger 180's and 180 to double peg down to 180 off. In the end, the day was cosha. Check here for the photos I got.

Clanfield.

After Charlie staying at mine, he invited me to go to his house. First evening, we went down to the mini, and met up with Ash and Josh, and the others. After riding for about an hour, we got down to business and took a few photos. Click around here for them (warning : cocky content. Ha). Tuesday, Me and Charlie, then met up with Mikey at Guildford, and rode the skatepark between sweating, and complaining about sweating. That parks fun, and Mikey shreds it, as you can see in this video.

Yesterday, me, Bruton, Barlcay, Robbie Legg, Carlos, and Mouse rode Chandlers. I love C-Ford due to the hips, and the fact you can ride it without pedalling (unless your names Lee Bruton!). Result! So yeah, took a few shots there whilst my batteries slowly died. Where the rechargables at?! So yeah. As you can see, Bruton goes too high. Silly bugger. Haha. After riding, we headed back to Rob's place, stopping at Super Pizza (which is fuuucking sick), and then watched the footage, and other crap that was on the tape. Ha. Good times. Is one word to describe the last few weeks around the Clanfield area!

I haven't been able to post anything up as my internet is so inconsistent due to my idiot of a brother downloading some virus infected porn!

The last few weeks have been mental. So many thing's have gone down, a few trips to amazing skateparks for example today, Josh Hocking, Lloyd Killick, George Harckham, Sam Clark and myself threw our bikes and ourselves in the back of George Harckham's step-dad's van for his Birthday trip to Southwater. The place is sooo dialed! Flowy lines, perfect quarter's and a ridiculous 'Elvis' quarter! Josh Hocking killed the place! Huge tuck-no-hander's and 360's all around the park!

The day was pretty chilled, everyone tried riding as soon as the sun went behind a cloud due to the heat! Possibly the hottest conditions I have ever ridden in! We clocked some footage and I took far to many shot's to post up! So I thought I'de just post up the goodens'. I thought I'de have to say a big thank you to George and his step-dad Nick! for making it all happen and treating us all to a lush McDonalds on the way home!

We all got dropped home to our houses and had showers ETC and then we all rode Wecock Skatepark. George Harckham was obsessed with Josh's Tuck-no-handers so he did it over the spine there...

Sexy? I know. Heres a little story behind my ride...

At the end of last summer, I needed a bike to get to school within about 1 minute, as my promtness to registration was not up to par. Anyway, after venturing in my shed, I found this old bike of my Grandad's, circa 1970's. Too good. Anyway, as you may be able to see in the picture, there is a lack of grips. This is due to the deteriration of the rubber due to perishing. Becuase of this, i've replaced the grip with white electrical tape. Niiiice. It's also single speed due to messing the deraliar(sp?) up, and it's front brake only too as i'm too street for back brakes...

Street vs Tweak is a week away today! Shit is gonna be poppin'! Don't forget. Congregate at MFI carpark for about 12 o'clock. Same rules as last year - there are no rules... Ha.

What with having finished school now, which is preeeety sick, I've had the chance to ride Chandlers Ford a bit recently, and what with the new bowl, it's pretty good! A good place for a chilled out evening session! Be warned, the bowl is dangerous!

Err... I've now got photoshop on my laptop, as you can see by the new banner. Haha. Cheers to Alex's Mum for that one :)

And yeah, that's about it really. I guess just check back for some more updates soon I guess...

This morning I woke to find a parcel on the end of my bed containing my new flash which i ordered yesterday! I didn't have much money so I tried to find a bargain on Ebay! I managed to find a Nikon Speedlight SB-24 (mint condish) for £55.00 (free postage).

I was pretty psyched when I found out how good it was tonight! I took some shots of Josh Hocking. They came out pretty sweet, check them out below....

More news from Clanfield, Rob Farr recently got his camera stolen which suck's sooooo bad. This means that NO filming will go down untill the insurance pays out for his new one. After a head aching day of exam's and revision I decided to ride my bike and take some photo's today. Luke Haskal and myself decided to go to our local flowwer, Wecock. After riding for an hour or so, Light became an issue and it became dark very soon. I'de never had a chance to use my flash in the dark yet so we decided to stay and take some shots. After getting used to the camera setting and flash I managed to shoot these little beauties...

After getting bored of shooting photo's, Tom Trew arrived and shot some of myself...

The Day ended with some pretty good photo's. A really stress relief from exams and so on.

However, I am inclined to not do work wherever possible and proceeded to use those "odd twenty minutes" to ride my Bike.

Started off at Clanfield, then headed to Sheet trails in peef, then back to Clanfield, and then ended up at Chandlers Ford where Barclay ate shite on a three hop. I also got to ride that bowl. Bloody hell, a reasonable ammount of people out on a skany Friday evening! It was a good session actually. Rode St.Johns, the Center, and the Locksheath presicnt. All was pretty chillll. 'Nuff footjams done today too, and that's basically all I took photos of, inbetween checking my slave for whether it wanted to work or not. Anyway, heres a couple'a photos from today.

Is shite. I've not had much time to post anything recently due to revision for exams and so on.

Not many people have been riding much around the area due to exams and after school revision. However, One local nutcase you might of heard of is Josh Hocking, The only person around the area who has been revising bicycle skills! Josh Hocking and myself have been riding Clanfield alot recently, I've been shooting alot of photo's of him like this 'Tuck no hander.'

I also shot a picture of a lush look back with super low cloud level in the background.

I've been quite busy making more previews and piecing parts together for the 'Dont Watch This' video. Some lush filming has gone down over the last few weeks so exspect an update within the next two weeks. Im hoping to meet with Pies and clock some footage in around his area which would be pretty cool. I rode the closest park to my house today, Wecock, with Luke Haskall and myself, I shot a picture of a footjam whip and a pretty high styled air with a pikey girl in the background which was pretty cool.

Just after these shots were taken we were joined by Lloyd Killick and Sam Clark, Shortly after they arrived they left as Luke rode over Sam's head! Ouchhhhhhh! The sesh died down pretty much after we decided to call it a day. As I was riding home the rain decided to batter me through and through and I ended up soaked. Not good.

Little update!

A few days ago, I ordered a transmitter and reciever for my flash gun so I could set up a slave. Yesterday, I recieved the £4.88 slave kit, and fuck me, I think it's the best investment i've ever made. Seriously, it's too good. So anyways, last night, I took a few photos with the slave of my swing in my garden, and a few nice shots of my bike too (which are now on flickr). Due to my excitment of this buy, I thought it would be sweet to go out riding, and get a few shots. After looking at the dull clouds, debating whether to leave my house or not, I rode to Abshot, stopping at St.Johns whilst waiting for Barclay to fix a puncture. After litterally 15 minutes, rain fell, and my smile turned into a frown. I was not best pleased. The end of this pointless story, is that I need all of you to get on it and come out so I can get some sweet photos on the go, now my camera set up is all game set and match. Heres some sample shots from my slave.

In other news, heres a video of Rob Castle courtesy of 4down and Metal bikes. It's preeeeeeeetty sick! That grind over the humped side rail at Hoglands from the 5 to the 6 is actually insane, as is the rest of the video to be honest. Best bit is, he's local! Everyone loves a bit of localness!

Summer time?

Today was my birthday. I awoke to recieve a lush new Nikon D60, and sun gleaming, clueless of where I was going to ride. Plans of going to the beach seemed a good idea, but I was wanting to ride, and put the new camera to the test. In the end, myself and Falex headed into town. After a couple of hours pondering around in Pijin, we headed to ride some street. First riding photo with the new camera was of Alex, doing a footjam whip.

After getting bored of the Job Center wallride, me, Falex, Punj and Antonio headed for Ocean Village. To begin, we had a little hop comp, then chilled at tesco. Following said events, Joel, Myspace Dan, and Cal turned up to join in with the ride. We soon "epiced" up the spiral of the new multi sotry park, to ride one of the nicest ledges ever. Cal and Joel both put it to the test by trying Smith grinds to manual to 180. This is an over to smith from Cal, which was later followed by said manouvers.

Oh, and heres Cal doing what looks like the funky chicken. Ha.

Anyway, what looked like was going to turn out to be a boring day, turned out to be pretty fun, and also, i'm so stoked on my camers. Too good :)

This festival was a gallery of all stenciled peices in a tunnel, from artists from all over the world. Some really clever stuff, some unique stuff, and some just sweet peices. Overall, it was a sweet day. Took a load of photos, and so did Alex, so heres my set here and heres Alex's set here.

This Bankholiday weekend has been hectic. It all popped off at Clanfield on Saturday with a chill session down the skatepark, which lead to a lush session at Southsea yesterday (where we were restricted to riding the spine mini due to a skate comp being held), and then today me and Barclay visited London to see "The Cans Festival" which was soooo sick. So, I guess you're thinking, "Who the hell is this Ash Foster?" Well, a short introduction to myself;

I like to take photos and film my friends when I'm out riding BMX or in chilling with some mates. I've recently started to get into to world of photography and things are going well with it at the moment. Anyway, enough of the life story and heres a photo.

Yesterday, I shot some photos of Josh Hocking at my local, Clanfield Skatepark. One being this Tuck-No-Hander on the mini.

The day went pretty well. Some footage was clocked for the "Dont Watch This" video. We ended up taking apart one of the ramps to create a more "ghetto" scene so to speak! After riding we all chilled round Tom Trew's house. Guitar Hero 3! Boooyah! More soon, well, if the sun comes out.....

Ash Foster, from Clanfield is chill. He's a fellow photographer, and takes part in the filming of, and producing of certain web videos you may have seen in the past. Well, he's producing a video as a college project from over the next few upcoming months, and has asked me to help partake in these events. As a result of this, we've decided it would be suitable to make this video as a Junction Nine thing. In result of this, we're going to start filming now, using spare footage to make mini edits, and keeping the "sweet" clips for the final thing. In other news, i've put the stencil to the test. I've made it the size of a credit card, so it easily fits in my wallet, and i've got some sweet "Ford : Nordic Blue" spray to use too. An example of what you may see around the area is viewable here. This is my wallet, it's looking pretty sick now. Ha!

Finally, a few of us went to check out the new bowl in Gosport today. It's alright actually, not nice to ride as a mini, nor is it flowable, but by-god, it was fun as a fly out. Few of the tricks we busted out between ourselves where whips (not me, although i did attempt), E.Ts, 180 variations, G-turns (holla at Barclay, who also did a few 5s!) and alot of brake pulling by Angry Scott (jokes bro!). But yeah, overall a chill session!

Hollaaaa! Another large time gap between this post and the last post, but i thought it had to be done, i'm tired of being lazy. Ha. Righty-ho! Hope everyones safe and stuff etc.

Anyone noticed the sun making a more frequent appearance? I have (kinda, it's having a few phases...) and have been using it to its advantage. Abshot Summer Training sessions are seeming to make a come back. The other day, all the cretins (Falex, Dave, Libby etc), Mouse, Bruton, Barclay, Dan Jones, and I were all down, flowing around doing what Abshoter's do! Anwyays, we all know they make good days. Locals need to sort out their priorities and put Abshot at the top of their list. Good times!

In other news, a few of us made a rather fun trip to Weymouth where we were greeted to a £7 for 3 hours fee, which was not cool, especially considering it rained at the end of it. It was a laugh though, what with infamous ANGRY Scott and "THE gap bail". Hilarious! Ha. After, we voyaged to Salisbury, home of the salty locals, and some metal ramps. Luckily enough though, it was dry. Got two photos there. Have a butchers.
